WBU enrollment up across the system
PLAINVIEW, HALE COUNTY – Wayland Baptist University (WBU) had 1.11 percent enrollment increase throughout the WBU system, with the Plainview campus experiencing a 5.86 percent increase in student enrollment, according to a WBU news release.
Plainview campus enrollment reached 1,826 students, and the system enrollment grew to 6,834. Those students are enrolled in 48,779 credit hours with 17,927 begin taken at the Plainview campus, an increase of more than 3 percent.
The Plainview campus shows a 3.43 percent increase in undergraduate enrollment with 1,387 students, up from 1,341 a year ago. The largest increase came in the number of students enrolled in graduate programs with 439, a 14.3 percent increase from the 2011 numbers.
The enrollment at Wayland’s Lubbock campus dropped to 624 students, down from 686 in 2011. The campus in Amarillo remained steady with 109 students, up from 106 in 2011.
The San Antonio campus remains the largest Wayland campus in terms of head count with 1,969 students, an increase of nearly 4 percent from 2011.
