AUSTIN - Dealers in the local metro area saw sales of new vehicles rise 16.3 percent in September 2012 over the same month last year, according to Freeman Auto Report.
Area dealers sold 9,655 new vehicles in September 2012, compared with 8,304 in September 2011.
For the year to date, Austin-area auto sales remain up 15.8 percent over the same period in 2011.
For local consumers, Ford pickups continued to be the most popular vehicle, with 917 sold in September, according to Freeman Auto Report.
