BIG SPRING, HOWARD COUNTY - Construction on the $12 million water purification plant is 75 percent complete. The Colorado River Municipal Water District will use the facility to take Big Spring wastewater and cleaning it to mix in their raw water supply.
There will be three different processes to clean this wastewater. As much as 2 million gallons of water will be cleaned in this facility. The facility will be finished by March 2013.
The water produced will only add to the backup water system.
