Construction employment rises across Coastal Bend

COASTAL BEND – The Coastal Bend made a 6 percent jump in jobs in the construction, mining and logging sector ranking the area 50th out of 337 metro areas in employment measured nationwide, according to Associated General Contractors of America.

In Texas, Corpus Christi’s growth rate ties with Abilene, Killeen-Temple-Fort Hood, San Angelo, San Antonio-New Braunfels and Wichita Falls. Houston and Dallas both ranked 73rd in the survey.

The list looks at construction job growth from August 2011 compared to August 2012.
