MANSFIELD - Klein Tools is now entering the first phase of a more than 600,000-sf expansion on 100 acres in southwest Mansfield on Easy Dr. The tools manufactured in Mansfield will be shipped worldwide with the "Made in Mansfield" label.

Illinois-based Klein Tools remodeled and moved into a 128,000-sf industrial building last year at 1250 Heritage Pkwy.

The first phase of a five-year planned campus, south of Mansfield Industrial Park, is set to start early next year. Construction will begin with a 60,000-sf heat-treatment building.

The 155-year-old company employs 125 workers but plans to have 585 employees by the end of 2016.

Klein manufactures more than 3,000 tools and accessories, including pliers, wire cutters and hand tools used mostly by electricians.
