Niagara, accolades flow to Missouri City
MISSOURI CITY – Missouri City’s economic success has popped up again and again in both local and national media.
Missouri City’s Lakeview Business Park was selected as the site for the $18 million Niagara Bottling plant. The 356,000-sf facility is set to open in first quarter 2013 and generate 59 jobs.
As a result, the Texas Economic Development Council awarded the city the Community Economic Development Award.
The city was also ranked third on CNNMoney and Money Magazine’s “Top 10 Most Affordable Cities for Homebuyers” for cities with a population of 50,000 to 300,000.
The magazine’s research shows Missouri City’s median home price at $145,690, a median family income of $89,242, and almost two dozen parks in 30 square miles.
The magazine also cited ethnic and socioeconomic diversity, availability of affordable homes, great schools and strict zoning as positives for the city.
