Shopping Helotes bigger and closer

HELOTES – Construction has begun on the Helotes Town Centre, which will be anchored by a $9.9 million Walmart Supercenter. The 150,000-sf Walmart is expected to open in fall 2013. 

The City of Helotes, bordering Northwest San Antonio, is also providing an incentive package to assist with public improvements.

In addition to the Supercenter, another 27,000 sf of shop space and restaurants are planned for the project.

Initial plans for the Town Centre go back several years. The project gained momentum when Walmart Stores Inc. purchased 16 acres this past spring.

Retail-strip space — depending on location and size — will lease for $24 per sf.

The Town Centre is being developed by Rohde Ottmers & Siegel Realty Services.
