MIDLAND – Midland’s unemployment rate fell half a point to 3.3 percent in September from 3.8 percent in August. In September 2011, the rate was 4.4 percent. Midland reported the state’s lowest unemployment.

Midland’ workforce grew to 88,368 in September. Of those in the workforce, 85,416 were employed and 2,952 were unemployed.

The MSA added 700 jobs from August to September, for a growth rate of 0.9 percent, while 2,800 jobs were added from September 2011 to September 2012, for a growth rate of 3.7 percent.

Odessa reported the second lowest rate at 3.9 percent, also down a half-point from 4.4 percent in August.
