FORT HOOD – The $13.5 million Hood Stadium Complex has opened giving Killeen Independent School District schools a new place to host football games. The new complex replaces the former Prichard Stadium on post after it was torn down to make room for the new $500 million Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center.

KISD was granted use of the Fort Hood facility via a rental agreement in the form of a memorandum-of-understanding that is currently being put in place and outlines who will provide what for events.

The new Hood Stadium will seat 5,500 located entirely on the west/home side of the field with handicapped seating located along the front. The stadium includes an Olympic-sized track surrounding the grass field, which can also be converted into a UIL-regulation soccer field, and two separate locker rooms.

There is a 1,000-space parking lot directly outside the stadium, with overflow parking available in the nearby Clear Creek Exchange and Community Events Center parking lots.
