YOAKUM, CUERO, VICTORIA - Hotel construction is up throughout the Crossroads as the ongoing oil boom is limiting available lodging throughout the region. A 38-unit Black Gold Inn is currently under construction at 702 US 77A. The motel is estimated to be complete in February 2013 and cost $2 million, according to state filings.

Other hotel construction for the Crossroads area includes:

  • Cuero — Hotel Texas is nearing completion at 2400 Esplanade. The 41-unit motel has an estimated cost of $1.45 million, according to state filings.
  • Victoria — Hilton Garden Inn and Homewood Suites are underway, as reported in September 2012. Homewood Suites is the first hotel to obtain a 380 agreement from the Victoria City Council, meaning it must leave at least three room blocks open a month for the convention and visitors bureau to sell.
