AUSTIN – National builder Meritage Homes plans to break ground in January at 11410 Old San Antonio Rd. on a new multimillion-dollar residential development. The development is being called the South Austin White House Project.

The 13.5-acre tract is believed to have been a stagecoach stop for the north side of Onion Creek on the Old Chisholm Trail between Austin and San Antonio. The house and barn, located on the tract, will be preserved as a 3.5-acre amenity will honor the property’s history and tradition.

Construction on the first homes is expected to start in mid-2013, and will be ready for buyers to move in by fall 2014.
