Garden Ridge, Burlington open in Conroe

CONROE – Garden Ridge has reopened its megastore at 16778 I-45 S. in the College Park Shopping Center, nearly a year after the building was destroyed by a fire. The new store has 133,773 sf, nearly 20,000 sf larger than the original store.

Meanwhile, off-price apparel and home products retailer Burlington has opened a 66,517-sf store in the same shopping center, at 16590 I 45 S. Construction costs for the buildout were estimated at $1.6 million, according to public filings.

Conroe enjoyed a record in sales tax revenue for the fiscal year 2011-12 with $24.139 million, which surpassed the previous high of $22.774 in 2007-08.
