MIDLAND – Construction is set to begin on the first phase of the EZ Rider multimodal facility located at FM 1788 and W. County Rd. 117. The $4.5 million, 12,900-sf maintenance building is expected to be complete in May 2013.

The entire project, which also will include parking and an estimated $1.7 million, 8,800-sf administrative facility, is scheduled to be finished during the summer 2014.

Both projects will be completely built with federal funds, according to Robert Stephens, project supervisor from EZ Rider’s parent company, McDonald Transit Associates.

The facility will include more space for the maintenance portion of EZ Rider and allow for the site to become a regional hub that attracts regional carriers that need to have work completed on their vehicles.
