Performing Arts Center stage in San Antonio
SAN ANTONIO – The Tobin Performing Arts Center $203 million renovation project is currently underway and on target for completion.
The redesigned theater will include an expanded grand lobby, 1,750-seat main performance hall, 250-seat studio hall and 600-seat outdoor auditorium that will have direct access to the River Walk. The foundation also looks to construct a memorial to recognize Medal of Honor recipients from the San Antonio area.
One of the theater’s biggest assets is a $10 million mechanical floor that will be the first of its kind in the United States.
In this next fundraising phase, the foundation seeks donors for naming rights for the theater’s 29 luxury boxes, which range from four to 12 seats. To date, the Bexar County Performing Arts Center Foundation has raised $36 million in private contributions.
