Waco housing continues to improve

WACO – According to a report by the Texas Association of Realtors, 648 homes were sold during the period between July and September in Waco — a 23.9 percent increase than the amount sold during the same period in 2011.

The median price of a home sold during third quarter 2012 was $132,600. That amount is 7.28 percent more than the $123,600 during 3Q 2011.

Monthly inventory in Waco has declined from 9.7 months in 2011 to 8.7 months during 3Q 2012.

Across Texas, 66,746 homes were sold in 3Q 2012, which is 14.17 percent more than those sold in 3Q 2011. The monthly inventory of homes on the market dropped to 5.5 months in 3Q 2012, down from 7.3 months in 3Q 2011.
