HOUSTON – The Westchase District is booming with new retail, office and multifamily projects. The district reports that occupancy for top office space recently rose above 90 percent. Here’s an update on the latest projects.

Phillips 66 plans to build its global headquarters on 14 acres just west of the Sam Houston Tollway, between Westheimer Rd. and Briar Forest Dr., as reported in September 2012.

Wood Partners is building the $32.4 million, 256-unit Alta Woodlake Square apartment complex. The three-story project is going up at 2630 Tanglewilde and is slated for completion early 2013, as reported in February 2012.

DataVox will soon debut its new $10 million, 48,000-sf headquarters at 6650 West Sam Houston Pkwy. S.

Behringer Harvard REIT I Inc. is developing an 332,000-sf Two BriarLake Plaza, located at the intersection of W. Sam Houston Parkway and Briar Forest Dr. The 12-story office space will be built on top of a seven-level parking garage, as reported in September 2012.

LA Fitness opened a 45,000-sf facility at 9603 Westheimer near Gessner in October 2012.
