SAN ANTONIO – IDEA Public Schools has closed on the purchase of eight acres at South Flores St. and West Harding Blvd. The charter school will total 59,000 sf, including 32 classrooms, three science labs, a hybrid-learning lab and soccer fields.

The campus is slated to open next fall, and will initially serve kindergarten children and first, second and sixth graders. The school will ultimately be scaled up to serve kindergarten through 12th grade.

The new school will be the second campus for IDEA. The inaugural campus, IDEA Carver Academy, is located at 217 Robinson Place on the city’s East Side.

The IDEA schools are tuition-free campuses. To date, the nonprofit serves more than 13,000 students in 28 schools throughout the Rio Grande Valley and Central Texas.
