KILLEEN-TEMPLE-FORT HOOD – Temple area home prices rose 3.4 percent in September, according to a report released by CoreLogic. The CoreLogic study was based on repeat sales transactions of single-family homes using Multiple Listing Service data.

Data on distressed properties such as foreclosures and short-sales were included.

The average home price in September was $144,100 in Temple-Belton and $136,300 in Killeen-Fort Hood regions, according to the Real Estate Center at Texas A&M University. Prices in September 2011 were $141,600 in Temple and $139,200 in Killeen.

In a month-over-month comparison, local home prices decreased slightly by 0.1 percent from August to September, according to CoreLogic.
