PASADENA - San Jacinto College Central Campus has opened its new 113,000-sf science building at 8060 Spencer Hwy. Construction costs were estimated at $29.5 million, according to state filings.
The three-story, LEED-certified building is comprised of 54 percent lab space and 30 percent lecture hall and classroom space. It also includes a recycling center and public and student gathering areas. There are 12 biology, four chemistry, three geology, and two physics laboratories.
In addition to the science building, Central Campus has already held grand openings for a new transportation center and health sciences expansion.
