Texas Instruments to invest $35M in Sugar Land
Sugar Land – Texas Instruments (TI) will invest $35 million to build a 160,000-sf development facility and office complex on seven acres at the northeast corner of US Hwy. 59 and University Blvd.
Located in the Telfair commercial development area, the research and development facility will create an estimated 375 jobs.
The City of Sugar Land’s Office of Economic Development created an incentive package based on TI company creating more than $35 million in new capital investment and providing more than 375 jobs for the city.
The Sugar Land Development Corporation awarded a $2.5 million grant to TI, while Fort Bend County awarded a ten-year, 75 percent tax abatement and the City of Sugar Land adding a 50 percent tax abatement.
Construction is estimated to be completed by early 2014.
