Centene underway on Earl Campbell Pkwy.

TYLER – Centene Corp. has broken ground on a 50,000-sf medical insurance claims processing center in the 140-acre Tyler Business and Technology Park off of Earl Campbell Pkwy.

The company is expected to bring 327 new jobs in Tyler and invest at least $15 million in the facility, which is expected to be completed in 12 months. Annual payroll would be about $13.4 million within four years.

Centene started serving Texas in 1984 with 1,800 members in El Paso. The company now serves more than 900,000 people in the state.

Centene bought the 25-acre site from the Tyler Economic Development Council and optioned an additional 15 acres for future expansion.
