SAN ANTONIO – The greater San Antonio housing market saw a 19 percent increase in homes sales between October 2011 and 2012, according to a report by the San Antonio Board of Realtors (SABOR). A total of 1,654 homes were purchased over the month this year — versus the 1,349 homes sold in October 2011.

The average price of a home stands at $195,591 — a 7 percent increase from the average price of $182,304 posted as of October 2011.

The median price of a home currently stands at $159,500 — a 4 percent increase from the median price of $149,500 posted last October.

For the ten months ended October 31, 2012, a total of 16,829 homes have been sold in the greater San Antonio area — up from a total of 15,233 homes sold over that same time period last year.
