EDINBURG – The City of Edinburg has moved to terminate its lease agreement with Edinburg Equities — the current tenant of the city’s baseball stadium — and will reopen the bidding process to the Edinburg Baseball Stadium.

The 4,000-seat facility, located at the corner of Sugar and Schunior roads, was opened in 2001. The University of Texas-Pan American leases the stadium during the school year for use by the Broncs’ baseball team.

The council will accept new proposals for the park after it exercised the lease’s 30-day out clause in October.
