LAREDO – The October 2012 unemployment rate for Laredo fell to 6.3 percent from 6.4 percent in September, one of the lowest figures in 2012, according to the Texas Workforce Commission.

In 30 days, 300 jobs were created registering 100 fewer unemployed persons in the city.

The Eagle Ford Shale industry is generating more jobs in this area, which helps to lower unemployment, according to Raul Salinas, the city’s mayor.
