El Paso airport: passenger, freight up from April 2014
EL PASO – Passenger traffic at El Paso International Airport declined 3.4 percent from March, but increased almost 1 percent from April 2014.
Passenger traffic is up 0.6 percent for the first four months of 2015 compared with last year at the same time to 834,014 passengers, show an airport report.
In April, the airport handled 227,658 passengers, a decrease of almost 8,000 passengers from March, but an increase of almost 1,900 passengers from a year ago.
Southwest Airlines had 52 percent of the El Paso passenger traffic in April; American Airlines had 25.4 percent; and Delta Airlines, 6.1 percent.
Freight traffic increased almost 9 percent in April compared to a year ago to 8,021 tons. For the first four months of the year, freight traffic increased 8 percent compared with a year ago to 29,750 tons. FedEx and UPS handle the bulk of the freight.
