New fire station coming to Lampasas
LAMPASAS – Construction is set to begin on the 15,880-sf joint-operated fire station at the corner of Briggs and Fourth streets. The project was bid for $1.06 million.
Construction is scheduled to take five months, according to Stacy Rudd, president of J Jacobs Construction, the company in charge of the project.
The two-story construction will feature eight truck bays, separate facilities for male and female firefighters, a workout room, conference room and office space, according to specifications provided by J Jacobs Construction.
Lampasas and the county will share responsibilities for the construction and operation of the station, similar to the agreement supporting the Lampasas Animal Shelter.
