Omni Marina tower to be sold in Corpus Christi

CORPUS CHRISTI – Bayfront Marina Investments has plans to buy the Omni Marina tower. The sale is expected to close by the end of 2012.

After the purchase is complete, the new owners will be converting the Omni Marina tower into a Holiday Inn, according to Raju Bhagat.

The hotel will be fully renovated next year, three floors at a time. Operations will continue during the work. Most present employees at the Marina tower will be offered jobs.

The company presently is revamping its Holiday Inn Airport, and is building Hyatt Place along South Padre Island Drive, among about a dozen other hotels it operates.
