HARLINGEN – City Commissioners on approved the final plat of a 59.29-acre subdivision — Harlingen Heights II — that will house a retail and commercial shopping center on the corner of Spur 54 and Expy. 77.

The subdivision consists of eight lots; seven lots are proposed for commercial use and one lot is proposed for multifamily use, public records show.

The Harlingen Economic Development Corp. has pledged $2,242,146 to the property’s developer — Reyna Development Group — for road and site improvements and infrastructure to develop and construct a shopping center.
