LUBBOCK – Several new businesses are on tap for Lubbock. Noodles & Company is slated to open in mid-to-late January in the former Baskin-Robbins space at 1003 University Ave., across from the Texas Tech campus. The 3,100-sf restaurant will employ about 30 people. Construction value is $350,000.
Several businesses also have filed commercial building applications with the City of Lubbock.

A 76,118-sf Marriott Courtyard will open at 308 Ave. V. The construction value is $6.7 million.

A 6,320-sf LongHorn Steakhouse is planned for 4805 S. Loop 289. Its projected opening date is April 29, according to Jim Powell, the site development manager. The company typically hires between 80 to 100 employees at new restaurants, according to Erica Jaeger, a company spokesperson. The construction value is $900,000.

A 3,752-sf Egg & I Restaurant is planned for 1910 Quaker Ave. The company plans to hire 30 employees. The construction value is $275,000.
- A 2,557-sf Church’s Chicken will open at 5727 82nd St. The projected opening date is April 30. The company will hire about 20 employees. The construction value is $250,000.
