Odessa 43,000-SF nursing resort underway

ODESSA – Construction has begun on the $10 million Madison Medical Resort at 5001 Office Park Dr. The 124-bed facility is expected to open in June 2013, according to Dan Marick of SCC Healthcare Group.

The 43,000-sf rehabilitation and health care facility will house short-term rehabilitation patients with upscale, hotel-like amenities, including on-demand dining.

The project includes specialized care and private rooms and bathrooms that are suited to the new mindset of baby boomers, according to Marick.

“Presently the market in Odessa (includes) five nursing facilities, and probably the newest one is 30 years old,” Marick said. “Odessa has so much going on right now, it would be a great place to build a brand new skilled nursing (facility).”
