TEMPLE – Discount grocer ALDI plans to open its new Temple store in March 2013 in the 16,000-sf former Circuit City building at 3310 S. 31st St. The building has been in the process of being remodeled since it was leased by ALDI in June.

German-based ALDI is in the process of hiring six store managers and assistants, according to Scott Huska, ALDI Denton division vice president. Hourly employees will be hired after January 1.

The store is part of ALDI’s push to expand its Texas footprint by nearly doubling the number of stores in the next three years. The closest ALDI is in Burleson, although the grocer has purchased two acres in Waco and will open a 16,000-sf store early next year.
