Not in Kansas anymore for lease in The Woodlands
THE WOODLANDS – Layne Christensen Co. has struck a deal with The Woodlands Development Co. to lease 51,152 sf in the top two floors of One Hughes Landing.
The water management and construction company plans to relocate its 200 employees from its current office in Mission City, Kan. to the 197,000-sf office building, once construction is complete in September 2013.
One Hughes Landing is the first office building to break ground at the 66-acre, mixed-use Hughes Landing on Lake Woodlands development, which is located on the 200-acre Lake Woodlands.
The eight-story, Class A building was designed to meet LEED Silver Certification requirements and is the first of up to eight office buildings expected on the site.
A boutique hotel, retail and entertainment venues, and upscale multifamily housing are also planned. One Hughes Landing is currently 30 percent leased.
The Howard Hughes Corp. secured $38 million in nonrecourse financing for construction of the building.
