ABILENE – Abilene sales tax receipts in December, which reflects October sales, are 6.47 percent higher than December 2011 and 13.59 percent above the projected fiscal year 2013 budgeted amount.

The city’s rebate this month is $3,088,683. Abilene had a rebate of $2,882,969 the same period in 2011, according to state figures.

From October through December, sales tax revenue is 2.34 percent below last year and 4.66 percent above the projected FY 2013 budget. Statewide, the latest tax collection totaled $2.34 billion, up 13.1 percent compared with the same period in 2011.
