GRAYSON COUNTY - After a dip in November, local sales tax receipts have returned to an upward trend.

Grayson County cities experienced a 10.63 percent overall increase to $1,922,639 from the same period last year. They are up 4.28 percent year to date from last year.

Sherman’s sales tax revenue saw an increase of 11.84 percent to $1,220,731. The city’s 2012 payments to date total $16,138,194, up 3.25 percent compared to last year.

Denison’s sales tax allocations were up 10.78 percent when compared with the same month last year. The city brought in $425,331. Payments to date are up 7.55 percent for the year, to $5,425,217.
