COLLEGE STATION - The Texas A&M Engineering Extension Service (TEEX) has purchased a building in the College Station Business Park, where the agency has been leasing space since 2004. The 60,000-sf Gateway building sits on 1.15 acres and has 200 parking spaces.

The $6.8 million price tag is substantially less than the cost of building a new facility, and based on rental fees, the cost will be recovered in just a few years, said Charley Todd, associate agency director.

The agency will continue to utilize 43,000 sf of office space and a large warehouse area of the building. The Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station (TEES) plans to purchase Suite A, which includes an additional 17,000 sf of offices, wet labs and cold storage units.
