ABILENE – Walmart has awarded a $9.2 million contract to Satterfield & Pontikes Construction Inc. to build a new 138,000-sf Sam’s Club at 5550 S. Clack St. Construction on the 20-acre site is underway with an anticipated open date in fall 2013.
The current Abilene Sam’s Club will be relocated to the new location. The new Sam’s Club is anticipated to create approximately 30 to 40 new jobs. Abilene Sam’s Club currently employs more than 170 people.
