Multifamily wave adds 36-story tower
AUSTIN – Developers Endeavor Real Estate Group and the Lynd Co. have broken ground on a 36-story tower located on Bowie St. near West Fifth. Bowie will add 358 units to downtown and include 40,985 sf of office space and 3,890 sf of restaurant space.
Other apartment towers under construction in downtown include the second phase of Gables Park Plaza, the Whitley, and SkyHouse, a $67 million project that will feature 320 apartments in a 23-story skyscraper on Rainey St.
Two projects due to break ground soon include a 24-story tower with 221 units slated to rise at West Seventh St. and Rio Grande St.; and StreetLights at Barton Springs which will include 300 units in a 19-story tower built near the Hyatt hotel.
Hundreds more apartment units are expected to be added in the next few years as part of redevelopment of the Seaholm Power Plant and Green Water Treatment Plant sites on downtown’s west side.
