ROSENBERG, SPRING - Two new Department of Public Safety (DPS) driver's license mega center have opened in the Houston area — one in Rosenberg and the other in Spring.

The Spring Mega Center is located at 4740 Spring Cypress Rd., and the Rosenberg Mega Center is located at 28000 Southwest Fwy.

Spring's DPS is nearly 24,000 sf, has 22 customer service stations, 36 employees and has the capacity to serve more than 700 customers a day.

Rosenberg's DPS is nearly 24,000 sf, has 30 customer service stations, 51 employees and is capable of serving more than 1,000 customers a day.

In 2011, the Texas Legislature allocated $63 million to open six DPS mega centers and hire 266 new employees. The first center opened in October in Pflugerville. Two more centers are scheduled to open next month in the DFW area, along with one in the San Antonio area.
