SAN ANTONIO - Home sales and prices are on the rebound, according to data released by the San Antonio Board of Realtors. In November, 1,531 homes sold, up 20.6 percent from the year before, and the median price reached $161,700, up 9.6 percent.

The region also has an inventory of homes for sale that's less than six months for the first time since late 2007. November's inventory was 5.6 months — down from 5.9 in October.

Year to date, 18,343 homes have sold, a 10 percent increase from last year. The median price year to date is $160,000 — up 5 percent from the same 11-month period last year.

Angela Shields, president and CEO of SABOR, said job growth and low mortgage interest rates have helped the housing market.
