DALLAS – Net downtown Dallas office leasing grew by about 100,000 sf in 2012, according to Cushman & Wakefield. The year marked the biggest net leasing increase in five years. It was the first time since 2008 that office occupancy downtown didn’t decline.
The biggest bump in downtown office leasing won’t be counted until this year — HKS Inc. will move from Uptown to 140,000 sf in the Patriot Tower, and Jacobs Engineering Group will move into more than 80,000 sf in the Harwood Center building.
Average quoted office rents in Uptown were $30.43 per sf at the end of 2012, versus around $21 per sf in downtown.
