MIDLAND – October was a strong month for area hotels, with hotels from Midland to Lubbock to Abilene pulling in a total of $29.3 million in taxable receipts.
Midland led the way with $8,459,509 in taxable receipts. Odessa had $7,226,282 in taxable receipts, Lubbock $7,086,011, San Angelo $3,314,327 and Abilene $3,194,327.
The DoubleTree and Plaza Inn were just two of 13 hotels bringing in total receipts of $300,000 or more in October, up from five in October 2011.
The DoubleTree reported receipts of $1,159,806, up from $784,881 the previous October, followed by La Quinta on Wall Street, $696,791.
