AUSTIN – Austin-Bergstrom International Airport had the busiest November on record in 2012. Total passengers through the airport came to 807,115 — 6.5 percent more than the previous high in November 2011.

Southwest Airlines handled the majority of the passengers, with 309,453, and saw an 11 percent increase over November 2011. American Airlines had the second highest capacity, at 155,532 passengers, which is even with 2011 numbers.

Air cargo in November 2012 totaled 15.4 million pounds, a 21 percent increase over 2011. International cargo nearly doubled to 2.2 million pounds.

Total passenger traffic from January to November 2012 was 8.4 million, a 4 percent increase over the same period last year.
