DALLAS - HEI Hotels & Resorts, a hotel investment firm, has purchased the Luxe Stoneleigh Hotel & Spa in Uptown and plans to convert it next month to a Le Méridien, part of Starwood Hotels & Resorts.
HEI owns 100 percent of the hotel — which will be called Le Méridien Dallas, the Stoneleigh — and also will be the on-site management company.
The company sees the 11-story beaux arts building, which launched as the Stoneleigh Court Hotel in 1923, as a good fit for Starwood and its Le Méridien brand.
State figures show the Stoneleigh’s revenue from rooms (not counting food and beverage) was on the rise. Third quarter 2012 room revenue was up 12 percent to $1.4 million from 2011 and was up 23 percent from 2010.
