EL PASO - An indoor pool that can host swimming competition is scheduled to open next year in West El Paso. Groundbreaking was held at 650 Wallenberg, near the Leo Cancellare Pool.
The 35,000-sf facility will feature 24 short lanes, eight long lanes, moveable bulkhead, scoreboards, Wi-Fi and spectator seating. The design will comply with USA Swimming standards and requirements.
The $13 million facility is funded by the quality of life bonds approved by voters in 2012.
The Cancellare Pool will be integrated into the project as a warm-up and cool-down for competitive swimmers.
