TEXAS – Austin-based restaurant chain Mama Fu’s is planning for a significant expansion across Texas. The restaurant chain will open locations in Houston, Dallas-Fort Worth, Temple and Waco in the next 12 months, according to Randy Murphy, the CEO of the company.

That’s in addition to locations in Lubbock and El Paso that opened in late 2012.

The Waco location is set for Lakewood Center off of Valley Mills Dr. and Wooded Acres Dr.

In all, the chain is looking to open ten restaurants nationwide in 2013. Mama Fu’s currently has 13 locations, seven of which are in the Austin area, with others in Ohio, North Carolina, Florida and Arkansas.

The company started selling franchise rights about two years ago and has now sold rights for 68 stores, Murphy said.

The company currently employs 14 people in its corporate headquarters in Austin and another 270 across its Austin-area restaurants.
