SPRING – The largest skate park in the United States and the second largest in the world has broken ground at the corner of Kuykendahl Rd. and Rankin Rd.

The $5.5 million skate park will feature about 75,000 sf of skatable surface, complete with a full pipe, a 12-foot vert. ramp, 10-foot bowl, banked walls and a section designed to imitate street-skating.

The park also will feature a management office, public restrooms and a community center when it is completed around April 2014.

Alongside the skate park is Dylan’s Park, a “park without limits,” which is built to accommodate families and children with special needs.
