Houston communities rank on national list

HOUSTON – Eight Houston-area communities made the Robert Charles Lesser and Co. list of the top-selling master-planned communities of 2012.

Sales among the top 20 communities on the list were more than 37 percent higher in 2012 than in 2011 because of strong gains in states hit hard by the housing bust, including Nevada, Florida and California.

Communities in Houston making the list include:

• No. 3 The Woodlands — 2012 sales: 1,007; 2011 sales: 945; 7 percent change
   
• No. 4 Cinco Ranch — 2012 sales: 982; 2011 sales: 862; 14 percent change
   
• No. 7 Riverstone — 2012 sales: 605; 2011 sales: 302; 100 percent change
   
• No. 15 Bridgeland — 2012 sales: 423; 2011 sales: 334; 27 percent change
   
• No. 16 Sienna Plantation — 2012 sales: 387; 2011 sales: 267; 45 percent change
   
• No. 19 Woodforest — 2012 sales: 308; 2011 sales: N/A
   
• No. 20 Telfair — 2012 sales: 307; 2011 sales: 381; -19 percent change
