HARLINGEN - Construction has begun construction on a 32,000-sf outpatient mental health facility that will replace three buildings now used by Tropical Texas Behavioral Health. The $6 million facility is located at 103 North Loop 499.
The agency hopes to occupy the new building by next Christmas, according to Terry Crocker, the agency’s chief executive officer.
“There will be Intellectual Developmental Disability Services, Outpatient Adult Mental Health Services, Outpatient Children’s Mental Health Services and Mobile Crisis Outreach Teams,” Crocker said. “We’re planning right now to also develop a primary care clinic at this facility.”
