VAN ALSTYNE, GRAYSON COUNTY – Grayson College’s Board of Trustees has approved a maximum guaranteed price for the construction of a new 18,000-sf Technology Center for the South campus in Van Alstyne. It will be built east of the current building.

The new building will provide space for a medical lab technician’s course for up to 36 students, a dedicated classroom for up to 18 welding students, and an OSHA training lab. Construction is expected to start soon.

The OSHA courses will be offered in conjunction with Southeastern Oklahoma State University. The new space at Grayson’s South Campus will also provide space for an electrician’s apprenticeship program and a computer lab, as well.

The maximum base price was set at $3,585,491, according to Shelle Cassell with the college. The Board also approved an additional $93,056 to possibly re-route a campus road to move the new building farther away from the existing structures.
