PLANO – The Medical Center of Plano plans to spend $66 million to expand its 427-bed hospital at 3901 W. 15th St. Construction is scheduled to begin in May 2013, with completion set for late 2014.

The expansion will enable the acute-care hospital to keep pace with steady growth and development of its Level II Trauma Center.

Plans include the construction of two additional floors totaling more than 56,000 sf and an additional 68 beds in the neurosciences unit. There are also plans to add more labs and to renovate existing public areas, including the south lobby and the hospital’s cafeteria.
